The Union River dams are currently under review for a thirty-year license renewal with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). With their federal license set to expire at the end of 2017, the Union River dams are in the last stages of a multi-year public comment period.

DSF is continuing its series of public forums and information sessions in the Union River watershed leading up to this once-in-a-generation decision on the future of the Union River. On October 25th at 6PM at the Beech Hill School in Otis, DSF will provide another opportunity for residents in the watershed to learn about this process and how best to engage themselves with it. We'll discuss the current status of the federal relicensing process of the Leonard and Graham Lake hydropower dams and how to get involved.

We are all stakeholders of the Union River. Please join DSF and your neighbors as we help shape a better future for our rivers and our communities.
