Climate Change and Southern New England Forests

Workshop hosted by the Northern Institute of Applied Climate Science is September 24-25 in Amherst, MA.

The Northern Institute of Applied Climate Science is hosting a workshop on Climate Change and Southern New England Forests for natural resource professionals on September 24-25 in Amherst, MA. 

A one-day session on September 23 will provide the latest scientific information the anticipated effects of climate change on local forest ecosystems, as well as describe resources for integrating this information into conservation and management activities. A special Forest Adaptation Planning and Practices session will be held on September 24, where participants working individually or in small groups will  incorporate climate change considerations and identify actions for adaptation into their own real-world forest management and conservation projects. 

There is no cost to attend these events, but registration is required. Participation during the September 24 training will be available to a limited number of participants, which will be selected on a first-come first-served basis by September 1st.
