Vermont Public Radio highlights partnership effort to determine how wildlife interact with roads and other forms of development, and to preserve the most important linkages between key habitat areas.

A recent Vermont Public Radio feature titled "Why Did the Bear Cross the Road?", describes work by the Staying Connected Initiative to maintain critical pathways between forested habitat across the New England states and eastern Canada. But the question partners in this effort are really trying to answer is: Where did the bear cross the road?
