Mass Live calls Connect the Connecticut "major conservation vision"
Connect the Connecticut continues to gain attention for bringing large datasets and diverse partners together to achieve a shared conservation vision. In a news story on June 4, 2016, Mass Live called Connect the Connecticut a "major conservation vision" that will help partners across the four-state Connecticut River watershed "prioritize and coordinate land acquisition efforts" in the face of future change.
The story highlighted the role of the North Atlantic Landscape Conservation Cooperative (LCC) in facilitating the effort, as well as that of Dr. Kevin McGarigal's team in the Landscape Ecology Lab at UMass Amherst in developing the sophisticated modeling approach used for design. McGarigal's Designing Sustainable Landscapes Project is supported by the North Atlantic LCC.
