Atlantic Salmon Returns to the Narraguagus

After a long, hot August the remnants of Hurricane Ida brought much needed rain, cooler river temp, and a fall salmon!

 One (1) new salmon (MSW Female) captured on 3 September. Water temp stable around 18C. Discharge 116 CFS.

 

 

  

 

Narraguagus River Atlantic Salmon Count -- through 6 September:

 

Season total: 17 à 14 MSW; 3 Grilse.

Naturally-reared origin:

2:1 à 2 (Grilse)

2:2 à 2 (Female)

 

Hatchery origin (smolt stocked):

H:2 à 12 (7 Female; 5 Male)

 

Hatchery origin (parr stocked):

P20:1 à 1 (Grilse)
